04/09/08
Paperman has started to take shape, James is on editing duties at the moment and apparently he's 8 minutes into the film's first cut. It's looking at the moment that it might be around the 15 minute mark. More news as we hear it.....

.....Meanwhile Simon is busy editing Area Manager and it's 90% finished, just adding a few finishing touches, and it should be online in the next few weeks.

On the ED-IV front, filming could start as soon as next weekend.....watch this space!!!

19/08/08 Exploitation Decapitation Cast List Announced

Ok, after much consideration I think we've worked out the cast list for our forthcoming project, Exploitation Decapitation IV: The cure at the passage of salvation. Lots of people have been interested in being in it, and below is everyone who's expressed an interest and there corrosponding character in the film. If you don't want to be in it, and we've put you down, then just let me know and i'll take you off the project. But if you do really want to be in it, then prepare to get excited! Filming begins in September.......

18/08/08 Three New Videos!

Why your waiting for Paperman to make an appearance on this site, why not pass the time by checking out three new shorts from S&J Productions. Available to watch now on youtube on our sandjproduction page & on this site under the streaming short films section (though we have had a few technical problems, so they might not be there!). The first new one is called 'Pies' and is basically Simon and James secretly filming a man who they believe to be a world pie eating champion. The second is a mock Avant-Garde arty film called 'Flowers In Winter', which is basically pretentious rubbish made from some crap footage we had lying around! The third is called 'Rollercoaster' and is Simon filming himself on the vampire ride at chessington world of adventures! 17/08/08 Area Manager Filming Complete
S&J have finished filming the new Flyin' Ike music video Area Manager. After a long but successful six hour shoot, the footage has been captured and is being edited as we speak. S&J would like to thank the band for there patience during the shoot, and in particular Calvin who had to dance repeatedly for about an hour!!! Well done everybody, lets hope all the effort will be worth it......

All Girl Slasher / Horror / Grindhouse Short Film Announced
S&J NEED WOMEN! Yes you read that correct, here at S&J we have a confession to make......our films never feature women!! In the past ten years the nearest we've got to a beautiful lady gracing are screens was one of us guys in drag, but that's all about to change. We are making a short horror film that will feature several different horror stories rolled into one, and we need several ladies to play a variety of roles. At the moment details are sketchy, but the chances are you will need to have a good scream and be good at pretending to die. The successful candidate will also have to possibly wear an outfit of some kind (killer nurses / nuns / wenches?), and have to show of there acting skills! But don't worry there won't be much speaking!! Are you interested? Do you wanna be a movie star? Do you wanna wave a machete around in the air screaming and get covered in fake blood??? If you answer yes to those questions, and your female, then speak to us now!! What have you got to lose (apart from your limbs).

So what do you do if you want to be a part of this film? Contact us and providing we like you (we've never refused an actor yet) we'll put you down for the project and write a part with you in mind (so if we need someone who can roller skate backwards and you can do that....bingo!). The film is a comedy and were not aiming for any awards here, we just want to make a horror comedy with chicks that kick ass! We've got the tools and props to do it, we just need beautiful young ladies in the Portsmouth / Guildford area who are willing and able to help us out. I say help us out cause we can't pay you......!

Filming will take place on weekends in September, and we are flexible as to when and where we can film (woods / back garden / your shed!). Paperman
We have finished filming it but are having a delay on the editing side. S&J are editing it on a brand new mac but are awaiting the correct editing software to start. Secondly because it was shot in HD, it takes a lot longer to capture, and needs more space! Please be patient we'll have it online by the end of the summer. Promise!

Area Manager music video
Filming for the next Flyin' ike music video will take place mid august, the new track 'Area Manager' is available to buy now as a single via Flyin ike's website and is also on there shit hot EP 'The Walled City'. We look forward to working with the band again!

Above are two exclusive stills from Paperman! To get you more excited, S&J are shooting the interior shots on the first weekend of this month. Once the shooting has wrapped were then into post production, which will include for the first time ever, S&J producing there own score for the film. The countdown has begun!

Oh My God!!! I have the pleasure of announcing that S&J have filmed the and completed the exterior shots for Paperman. Yes it's finally in production, and will have some screen shots on the site for you soon! Jon Griffiths is on board playing 'Martin Tumble', Simon Cresswell is playing 'The Geek' and in a last minute substitution  Ashley Cleaver is playing 'The Thug'. Ashley is no stranger to S&J, he was in all three music videos S&J made for popular guildford based rockers 'Flyin Ike' and is also there lead singer of the band. Welcome to S&J Mr Cleaver!! Hopefully the rest of Paperman will be filmed this month, and we'll have it on the site for you to watch by the summer. Oh happy holidays.......

There are now several ways of viewing S&J Productions. You can enjoy the films via this site, go on youtube and search sandjproduction, check out our myspace page and soon you'll be able to join our facebook group! If that's not enough S&J for your money, then well, I don't know what is.

Something will be filmed this month, i'm 90% sure it will be Paperman, but I said that last month. So who knows. But to compensate for a lack of all things Paperman, below is an exclusive sneak peak at the official script from the film. While the plot is secretly guarded, this will give you a little idea of what it's about. Enjoy......

EXT. THE STREETS. BOGNOR. NIGHT.

The GEEK from the earlier scene is walking down the same bit of road as before.  Once again he is eating a bag of humbug sweets.

Suddenly without warning a man jumps out from a bush in front of him, holding a kitchen knife.  It is the THUG from the previous night.

The geek drops his sweets and starts to scream as the THUG with the knife comes in closer towards him, slowly pushing the knife towards the GEEK'S neck.

THUG
Don't mess me around buddy, I ain't here for no sweets.  Give me your wallet?

GEEK
What?  I....I.....I....

THUG
Don't you play no games with me fella, hand it over.

The GEEK reaches inside his coat and pulls out a load of change with his shaking hand, which he drops on the floor.  

The THUG angrily pushes the knife closer into the GEEK'S neck.

GEEK
Please, all my money was taken the other night....I don't have much....

THUG
Shut it!  I don't care, any money's good money.

The GEEK reaches inside his coat once more and pulls out his wallet, and with his hand still shaking, gives it to The THUG.  

The THUG takes it, with a content smile.

THUG
That's what I'm talking about, it better be filled up with nice crisp twenties.

The THUG lowers the knife and starts to open the wallet, turning to walk away at the same time.  

However as he turns, he immediately walks into someone standing in his way.  The THUG slowly looks up.

*That's all your getting at the moment i'm afraid!!!!!!!!

April 2008

Climacophobia is finished and will be online sometime in the next couple of weeks!!! It's an epic 14 minutes, and mixes the usual warped characters and mayhem you've come to expect from S&J Productions, with a short story about a man who has unusual phobia.

Paperman is also progressing, S&J have found the perfect exterior locations and will begin filming in the coming weeks. With the Interior filming to be done soon after.


March 2008

Don't even mention Paperman! The project is further delayed due to a mix up with the dates, so fingers crossed the guys will have shot it by Easter. But good news, S&J have just filmed a new comedy short called 'Climacophobia' which is being edited as we speak, and will be online by the end of the month! What is 'Climacophobia' about? Find out soon (or just google it!).

February  2008

Paperman will begin filming on March 15th / 16th 2008 in Kings Langley (a small town outside of London). This is the interior shoot, and the exterior stuff will be filmed before the end of March in an as yet undisclosed  location, probably around Surrey. On February 2nd James, Jon & Simon finished the final touches to the script and filmed some night time test footage  in HD!! Yes Paperman will be filmed in HD, an S&J Productions first. Watch this space for more info......

January 2008

S & J are going into 2008 all guns blazing! Things have been quiet on the S&J front at the moment (we haven't officially filmed since last summer!), and the reason for this is a little thing called work. S&J have to pay the bills and have been working non-stop and haven't had a weekend to dabble in the art of film making. But all this is about to change as of the end of January, we are back in top gear! Paperman will be made sooner than you think, we have two music videos lined up to be made in the coming months and the guys are currently writing a new short film that will take them into the Sci-Fi genre called 'How To Kill An Alien (When You Know He's Trying To Take Over The World'. The story is hush hush, but lets just say it involves one mans mission to stop an alien from taking over the world. Will he succeed? Will the Aliens Win??? Find out in March. As for the rest of the year, watch this space until your eyes revert back into your head and your nose starts to bleed..........

'Paperman' will be filmed on two consecutive weekends in January, with filming to commence in Kings Langley and exterior filming in Surrey. However due to a change in script, the film will no longer be called 'paperman'. So watch this space for a new title announcement.

All has been a bit quite on the filming front as of late but, expect things to explode in the new year! Rumour has it, that another Flyin Ike video is also planned for January for a track from there forthcoming EP. Watch this space for more news!


September / October 2007

S&J have finished 'Mr Crank and Percy Fimble' and 'The Opportunist', and both will be avalable on here to watch very soon!! Also S&J regular Jon Griffiths has just finished editing 'The Rivers of Ganesh' a short selection of comedy scketches, that features the first apperance of the character Donald Flecthworth who is of course in 'Mr Crank and Percy Fimble'. In more news Jon, Simon and James will be meeting at the end of October to finalise plans for the forthcoming 'Paperman', with filming to commence in November!   

Rubble Robble will be shown at Interdependence day on Saturday 20th October 2007, at an event for the Royal Geographic Society South Kensington!!! You can find out more at the following link:

You can catch two public screenings of S&J Films this weekend! Yes it's true, so stop dribbling at the mouth and read on. S&J Films 'The Deal' and 'Rubble Robble' will be screened at the Big Chill Festival in Eastnor Castle Deer Park in the beautiful setting of the Malvern Hills in Herefordshire on Saturday and Sunday the 4th and 5th of August! The films will be screened by the Magnificent Revolutionary Cycling Cinema, and all details of the event can be found at the following two links:

So grab a rain coat and head on down there to see these two magnificent films on the big screen in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Entry to the event is £5, but the film tent is free once inside. Rubble Robble is on Saturday 4th of August at around 10pm and The Deal will be on Sunday 5th of August at Midnight!


July 2007

S & J are experiencing quite a busy year, with two productions already under there belt they have several more on the go! Below our a list of films you can expect to see before the end of the year and what status they are at:


The Adventures Of Mr Crank and Percy Fimble
Shoot entirely on location, the first edit of this short comedy has already been done, it's now being tweaked and re-edited by James to iron out the flaws. Expect it finished by the end of the summer.

The Opportunist
Shoot only two weeks ago, the footage is being edited by Simon during the next couple of weeks and should be finished by August.

Forbidden Fruit 2
The long awaited sequel to our first bizarre Forbidden Fruit, is currently still being shot. We can confirm that the opening was shot at the end of last year at Farncombe station, but we are awaiting an available time slot to finish the rest of the film. Probably won't be completed till the winter.

Paperman
It's been a year since S&J came up with the idea for paperman, but so far the film is still yet to be shot. However, the locations have been scouted twice in both Surrey and Cambridge, and several props have been purchased for it. Both Tim Chichester and Jon Griffiths are rumoured to be on board with Simon and James for this one. Should be shot before the year is out, but it's possibly S&J's biggest project yet, and Simon and James aren't going to let the cameras roll until they are 100% happy.
